Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg was impressed with how Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan played against England in the recently concluded five-Test series. Jaiswal was named the Player of the Series for scoring 712 runs, including two double-hundreds.
However, Hogg said that southpaw will have to change his game to score runs on Australia’s pace and bouncy tracks.
“Jaiswal played well against England. He will be visiting Australia in December. He will have to use the pace to play hook and pull shots instead of hitting the ball hard. If he wants to play aggressive shots against the Aussies, he needs to add more strokes to his batting arsenal,” Brad Hogg said.
Yashasvi has accumulated 1028 runs at an average of 68.5 in 9 Tests. Hogg was happy to see Sarfaraz Khan playing well against the England pacers.
“I was worried about his game against the pacers. But he played fine against sheer pace in the fifth and final Test against England. He has worked on his game and is ready to take on Australia in Australia with some of the pull shots.”
