Shreyas Iyer copied Sunil Narine’s bowling action in the ongoing Buchi Babu Tournament. Mumbai was up against TNCA XI, and Iyer rolled his arm over as he bowled the final over on Day 1. Instead of his regular bowling action, he went for Narine’s style.
TNCA XI posted 287/5 in 89 overs and needed to play Iyer’s one over to end the day. Shreyas used an unorthodox action to bowl to left-handed Boopathi Kumar. Iyer couldn’t bowl properly and was also hit for a six by Sonu Yadav as TNCA XI finished on 294/5.
Shreyas Iyer and Sunil Narine play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.
Narine was one of the top performers under Iyer’s captaincy in the 17th season of the tournament.
Even Ishan Kishan has bowled in the Buchi Babu tournament.
Shreyas Iyer to play in the Duleep Trophy
Shreyas Iyer will also play in the upcoming Duleep Trophy. He is currently out of the central contract list. The BCCI punished him for refusing to play Ranji Trophy last season.
Iyer is a part of Team D in the Duleep Trophy. He will be in contention to be in the Indian team for the home season that starts with a two-Test series against Bangladesh.
