Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Azam Khan was down on his knees after being hit by a bouncer in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2024. He is playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the league and was involved in a strange dismissal on August 30, Friday.
He came out to bat at the number five spot against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. The right-handed batter managed just five runs off seven deliveries. His only four came on the ball of Shamar Springer.
The bowler bowled a bouncer after getting smacked for a four, and Azam tried to pull it towards the leg side. He couldn’t connect the ball, and the ball hit his neck, and the batter collapsed on the ground.
The ball hit the stumps, and he had no option but to walk back to the dressing room.
The rival players checked Azam’s neck, and the physio came to the field to check him.

His dismissal left the Warriors at 77/4 while chasing 169 runs. The game went close but Guyana won the contest on the last ball. Romario Shephard and Dwaine Pretorious’ cameos helped the franchise to complete the target of 169 runs.
Azam Khan has been a failure for the national team as well. He was there in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 squad but was among the flops and was dropped mid-way. He will not be considered due to his below-par display and poor fitness levels. Azam is the son of former Pakistan player Moin Khan.
