In the World Test Championship 2025 Final being played at Lord’s between South Africa and Australia, Proteas star all-rounder Aiden Markram has brought his team close to winning the WTC title with a brilliant century. He remains unbeaten on 102 runs off 159 balls, including 11 fours.
South Africa now stands on the brink of winning an ICC trophy for the first time since the 1998 Champions Trophy. During this innings, Markram became the first South African batsman to score a century in the final of any ICC tournament.
He is also the 15th male cricketer overall to score a hundred in an ICC final. Additionally, he has become only the fifth South African player to score a century and take a wicket in the same Test match in England.
