Imran Tahir is not getting slowed down with his growing age. Instead, he has become a terrific fielder, and the veteran demonstrated his skills in the SA20 Eliminator between Paarl Royals and Joburg Super Kings.
Playing for Chennai Super Kings’ sister franchise, JSK, Tahir took a stunning catch of Mitchell Van Buuren, who failed to open his account. He made the impossible-looking catch easy, and the commentators and the fans were stunned when they saw Imran grabbing the white cherry.
Sam Cook bowled a slower delivery, and Mitchell Van Buuren went for a big shot. However, he couldn’t time it, and the ball ballooned in the air, giving Imran a chance to show his fielding. He didn’t disappoint his teammates and was seen imitating Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous celebration style.
It was not the only contribution made by the world-class spinner as he took 2 wickets and another catch to keep Paarl Royals to 138 in 18.5 overs.
He dismissed David Miller (47) and Bjorn Fortuin (0) as Joburg Super Kings dominated the match.
