Alyssa Healy has clarified the confusion surrounding a viral video featuring her seemingly celebrating with a beer after her husband, Mitchell Starc, made history with a record-breaking bid in the IPL 2024 auction.
The Kolkata Knight Riders bought the Australian left-arm seamer, Starc, for a staggering INR 24.75 Crore, making him the costliest player in IPL history.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, portrayed Healy enjoying a drink in apparent jubilation. Yet, it later emerged that the video was not recent and had no link to Starc’s auction.
In response to the viral footage, Healy emphasized that she was in the gym, diligently preparing for the upcoming multi-format series against India.
“I was at the gym, not thinking about beers, as social media suggested. I was there, putting in hard work, and observing everything happening. But yeah, it was a fantastic day for him and Pat Cummins,” she said setting the record straight.
The dominant Australia Women, reigning World Champions and currently ranked world No. 1, will face off against India Women in a one-off Test starting from December 21st.
