Virat Kohli doesn’t know how to survive these days in Test cricket. He has failed to solve his off-stump nightmare, and it continued in the last Test innings in the Australian series. The stand-in captain was looking good in the middle before the urge to go for a shot resulted in his downfall in the team’s second innings of the last contest. He has been dismissed eight times for deliveries that were pitched on the fourth or the fifth stump line.
Scott Boland got his wicket twice in the Sydney Test, with the veteran looking livid with himself for leaving the team in big trouble. Boland bowled a bit shot and all Kohli could do was to edge the ball to Steve Smith in the slip cordon.

The right-handed batter was furious with himself and slammed his hand on his leg before heading back to the dressing room. He amassed 6 runs in the second essay, while he registered 17 in the first chance. Apart from a hundred in the series opener, he failed to touch even a fifty-run mark in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
The Aussie pacers didn’t do anything extraordinary against him, and they just stuck to the plan of keeping the ball away from his body. He may get dropped from the Test team, and he is unlikely to travel to England for the five-Test series in June.
