India and Pakistan are ready to set the stage on fire in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The arch-rivals will clash on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The Men in Blue won their first game against Ireland by 8 wickets. On the other hand, the Men in Green were thumped by the United States of America in Dallas. Pakistan are under pressure as another defeat will end their hopes of making it to the Super 8 stage.
Babar Azam is on the target of former players for his slow innings and captaincy against the States. He scored 44 runs off 43 balls, which didn’t allow other batters to break free. Azam, who doesn’t enjoy friendly bond with Shaheen Afridi, didn’t even communicate properly with his bowlers during the USA’s chase.
Danish Kaneria has launched a scathing attack on Babar ahead of the important match against the Rohit Sharma-led team.
“The moment Babar Azam scores a hundred, he is compared with Virat Kohli. Virat kai joote kai barabar bhi nahi hai,” Danish Kaneria told IANS.
“He was stuck in front of the USA bowlers and failed to score runs. He scored 44 runs and left. Babar should have stayed back to win that game for Pakistan. It should have been one-sided match in favour of Pakistan.
“Pakistan have won all the World Cups and they have a name in international cricket. Pakistan have produced legends but when you see a performance like this, you feel bad,” he added.
