Former Team India batter Ambati Rayudu has sparked a new controversy over Suryakumar Yadav’s catch in the 2024 T20 World Cup final. Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Rayudu claimed that it wasn’t Suryakumar’s catch but the broadcasters who helped India win the T20 World Cup title.
According to Rayudu, in the final moments of the match, broadcasters had placed chairs near the boundary line, which pushed the boundary rope a little further back. He believes that if the rope had been in its original position, Suryakumar Yadav’s catch would have clearly been a six.
However, he later added that on that day God was with India, and Suryakumar’s catch was absolutely clean.
