Rinku Singh gets INR 3 crore award, set to gift a car to his father
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Rinku Singh expressed his gratitude towards his father by announcing his intention to buy a car for him. In the wake of Rinku’s achievements on the cricket field, he received a substantial sum of Rs 3 crore, prompting this gesture.
As reported by Amar Ujaala, Rinku Singh, a prominent figure in Aligarh’s cricketing circles, secured a noteworthy medal at the Asian Games held at the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan in Lucknow. The substantial cash prize of Rs 3 crore was a recognition of his outstanding performance. Alongside him, the talented runner Gulveer received an impressive sum of Rs 75 lakh.
Despite this significant achievement, Rinku Singh was unable to personally collect his prize money due to his commitment to the India A team. He was actively participating in a match against the England Lions in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Asian Games gold medal secured by the Indian cricket team further added to the nation’s pride, with Rinku being a valuable member of the victorious squad.
In the Asian games, Rinku made some vital contributions batting down the order. Especially in the quarter-final game against Nepal, his quickfire cameo scoring 37 runs off 15 balls proved to be a vital innings that propelled India to a victory.
Despite his son’s success, Rinku Singh’s father, Khanchandra Singh recently made headlines as a viral video captured him delivering cylinders. This image of a father continuing with his daily duties speaks volumes about the values instilled in Rinku Singh’s upbringing.
As Rinku expressed his desire to buy a car for his father, the sentiment resonated with many, highlighting the importance of family and the sacrifices made for success.
With IPL 2024 around the corner, Rinku Singh will once again don the KKR jersey as his franchise has retained him. It was in IPL 2023 when Rinku lit up the stage scoring 5 consecutive sixes to win the match for KKR against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the last over.
The Kolkata franchise has demonstrated immense faith in the young prodigy by retaining him alongside other stars like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shreyas Iyer, and Nitish Rana. T20 World Cup 2024 will take place in the West Indies and the USA
June 2024 will witness the ninth edition of the T20 Men’s World Cup. The Indian selectors and team management will closely monitor the upcoming IPL 2024 to finalize the squad.
The T20 cricketing extravaganza will be co-hosted by the United States and West Indies across nine venues, with six in the Windies and three in the US. A total of 20 nations will vie for the coveted trophy, including debutant Uganda.
It divides into four groups, each consisting of five teams. The top two teams from each group then advance to the Super Eight phase, followed by knockout semi-finals and the final.
In Group A, co-hosts USA are joined by arch-rivals India and Pakistan, along with first-time participants Canada and European side Ireland. Group B includes the last two Men’s T20 World Cup winners, England and Australia, who will compete against Namibia, Scotland, and Oman.
Group C features the West Indies, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea. Meanwhile, Group D includes South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Nepal, who will face off against each other in the initial fixtures.
