Ravindra Jadeja achieved several key milestones after surpassing VVS Laxman for the most runs by an Indian batter at number six or lower in a Test series. This took place on the third day of the fifth Test match at Kennington Oval on Saturday. Jadeja’s continued brilliance with the bat overwhelmed the England bowlers, and he surpassed the 500-run mark in the series.
This marked the first time in a bilateral Test series that three Indian players scored over 500 runs. The 36-year-old moved past Laxman’s total of 474 runs, which was set during India’s 2002 tour of the West Indies.

India now has three players who have scored over 500 runs in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Shubman Gill, the captain, scored 754 runs, boasting an average of 7540. KL Rahul managed 532 runs at an average of 53.20, while Ravindra Jadeja posted 516 runs.
Jadeja’s innings was brought to an end by Josh Tongue when he edged a delivery straight to Harry Brook at second slip.
