Ravichandran Ashwin will not be previewing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) matches on his YouTube channel for the remaining part of the Indian Premier League 2025. He was slammed after one the guests on his channel had criticized some of the players of the franchise.
Prasanna Agoram, who was associated with South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as a data analyst in the past, had questioned CSK’s decision to select Noor Ahmad despite Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja’s presence in the squad. Agoram was in favour of another batter instead of a third spinner.
The video was removed after massive flak on social media as CSK lost third consecutive match. Chennai have lost to RCB and Delhi Capitals (DC) at home as well. They are ninth on the table with two points from four contests. Noor is the current Purple Cap holder with 10 wickets from four innings. R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have a combined tally of 4 scalps.
“We have decided to step away from covering CSK matches, considering what happened last week. We value the different perspectives and our aim is to remain true to the integrity and purpose of the channel we have established. The views of our guests don’t reflect Ashwin’s personal opinion,” read a note from the admin of the channel.
After CSK’s match against DC, head coach Stephen Fleming revealed that he was not aware of Ashwin’s YouTube channel.
