A quaint little village with stunning views of a harbour is a perfect place for those looking for a serene holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Dragor, a coastal village located on the island of Amager in Denmark is just a short drive from Copenhagen.

Situated around eight miles from the popular tourist destination of Copenhagen, the village is a delight for the holidaymakers.

It is well-known for its well-preserved historic architecture, cobblestone streets, and quaint fishing village ambiance.

Apart from the scenic views, the village is steeped in history. Dragør dates back to the 12th century and has a long history as a fishing and maritime community.

In the 16th century, Dutch farmers and fishermen were invited to settle in the area, bringing agricultural expertise and significantly influencing the town’s development.

The historic Old Town (Dragør Gamle By) is especially notable, with beautiful yellow-painted houses, red-tiled roofs, and narrow, winding streets.

The village is extremely popular among the tourists as well. One user wrote on TripAdvisor forum: “Dragør Havn is literally the Harbour of Dragør and it is located near Copenhagen, just in the place where Øresund bridge begins (or ends).

“It is a harbour, from where you can see the sea, the bridge and the coast of Sweden, which is located on the other side of the bridge. It is a very nice harbour, where my daughter and I were playing, climbing rocks, doing a little excursion in the breakwater and obviously seeing awesome views of the bridge.

“Also, here there are some bars and restaurants, where you can have lunch and dinner. In fact, it is not the first time, I have come here and really it is wonderful. I would like to return every time I travel to Denmark.”
