Former India player Navjot Singh wants Mumbai Indians to beat Lucknow Super Giants on April 4. He is against the early elimination of the five-time champions. After losing to Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2025, the Hardik Pandya-led team returned to winning ways against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The team would like to take the momentum forward when they take on the host franchise in Lucknow. LSG haven’t been impressive, and barring a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, they have been found wanting against Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.
Sidhu will support MI in the contest. “Virat Kohli is the heartbeat of the tournament, while Mumbai Indians are the soul of the Indian Premier League. The ongoing season can’t afford their early elimination. It is important for the league that the Indians go far in the 18th season,” he said.
“They will become powerful when Jasprit Bumrah will return to the team. I hope he comes back fit and soon,” he added.
The speedster hasn’t recovered from his back injury sustained during the fifth and final Test against Australia in Sydney. He is working under the watchful eyes of the medical staff of the NCA in Bengaluru, and there is a possibility of him returning in the second week of April.
