Mohammed Siraj hails Virat Kohli’s joint slowest IPL hundred with fiery Instagram post
Mohammed Siraj has reacted to Virat Kohli’s 8th hundred in the Indian Premier League. The veteran accumulated 113 runs off 72 balls, laced with 12 fours and 4 sixes, and his runs came at a strike rate in excess of 150. The 35-year-old was accused of batting slowly, considering the current template of T20 cricket.
Kohli completed a hundred in 67 balls, the joint slowest in the history of the Indian Premier League. Manish Pandey faced 67 deliveries when he struck a hundred against Deccan Chargers in 2009. He was playing for RCB in that season.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted 183/3 in 20 overs which never looked sufficient once Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson started hitting boundaries.
The chase was completed in 19.1 overs with six wickets in hand. Meanwhile, Siraj, who has credited Virat for his success, took to Instagram to hail the effort of the veteran of the game. Calling him a King, Siraj’s post shows fire coming out of the batter’s bat.
Meanwhile, Virat has amassed more than 300 runs with one hundred and two fifties in the 17th season of the tournament. He has played five matches and has churned out runs in almost all the games. Despite his consistency with the bat, Kohli has been let down by other batters, who are finding it hard to smash fours and sixes. Barring Dinesh Karthik, other players in the form of Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar haven’t fired yet in the new season.
In the bowling department. Mohammed Siraj, who is spearheading the attack, hasn’t found his rhythm. His wayward bowling hasn’t allowed RCB to take advantage even if a wicket has fallen. With four defeats, their chances of making it to the playoffs are diminishing after every match.
