India pacer Mohammed Siraj is not worried about being punished by the ICC for his argument with Travis Head during the Adelaide pink-ball Test. The fast bowler has been fined 20 percent of his match fee for giving a fiery send-off to the Aussie batter.
The ICC also added one demerit point to the disciplinary record of Head and Siraj. The Indian team management held a practice session in Adelaide after the side’s 10-wicket loss in the pink-ball Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
As per the Sydney Morning Herald, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah skipped the training session on Tuesday in Adelaide just four days before the start of the Brisbane Test. Siraj was asked about his reaction to the fine, which is INR 8,95,340. “Yeah, man, it is all good,” he said.
When he was probed further, the Indian pacer didn’t like it, “I am going to the gym now.” After the day-night Test, Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj resolved their issue and hugged each other.
Earlier, Siraj gave a fiery send-off to Head after dismissing him. The southpaw scored 140 runs off 141 balls, helping Australia win the match by 10 wickets.
Speaking to ABC Sport, the Head said the issue between the two is over, and there was a bit of misunderstanding, which they cleared.
