Former England captain Michael Vaughan has mocked India after the visitors lost the first Test to the hosts in Leeds. The sub-continent nation was beaten by 5 wickets despite setting up a target of 371 in the last innings of the contest. Vaughan, who enjoys taking on former India opener Wasim Jaffer on social media, again started the banter.
“Evening @WasimJaffer14 .. Hope you are ok .. #1-0.” he wrote on X. Jaffer gave a cheeky reply. “Happy that a young Indian team got you worried like this. Enjoy the win Michael, we’ll be back. #ENGvIND”
Vaughan was not done yet and came up with a new series prediction: ” It could be 4-0 now, Wasim.”

“He was out of action for four years and there is no need to rush him. Let him play a few games for Sussex and then add him to the squad for the Lord’s Test. It is important to continue with the attack that won you the series opener.”
Archer’s availability will increase the firepower of England’s bowling lineup, which has been impacted by injuries. The second Test at Edgbaston starts on July 2.
