Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya bowled exceptionally well to restrict Pakistan to 241 in 49.3 overs. When Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan added more than 100 runs, the Men in Green were targeting 270-plus, but the fall of the regular wickets ended all the hopes of Pakistan. Shakeel was the only batter who scored a fifty, amassing 62 runs off 76 balls. Rizwan managed 46 off 77.
Kuldeep took three wickets, while Hardik added two scalps to his bowling figures. Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, and Axar Patel also dismissed one batter each. Earlier, Rizwan won the toss and elected to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Babar Azam (23 off 26) played some good strokes, but he couldn’t continue for a long time and was sent back by Hardik. Imam-ul-Haq, who replaced injured Fakhar Zaman, was run out after posting 10 off 26.
Salman Agha (19), Tayyab Tahir (4), Shaheen Shah Afridi (0), Naseem Shah (14), and Haris Rauf (8) were dismissed easily by the rivals. Khushdil Shah added some important runs in the end. He scored 38 runs off 39 balls.
