Buttler shared the details while chatting with Stuart Broad on the YouTube channel For The Love Of Cricket. When asked if he had received a response from Gill, Buttler said:
“I’ve messaged him a few times, begrudgingly saying, ‘Well played.’ He does reply, which is good; otherwise, I don’t think I’d bother sending him another one.”
Buttler played for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), under the leadership of Gill. Buttler had a standout season, scoring 538 runs across 13 innings, at an impressive average of 59.77.
Gill, on the other hand, has delivered remarkable performances with the bat in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He currently leads the run-scoring charts, having accumulated 722 runs in eight innings at an average of 90.25.
England currently lead the five-match series 2-1, with the last Test set to take place at Kennington Oval in London from July 31 to August 4.
