Jasprit Bumrah is the only Indian bowler who takes a wicket whenever Rohit Sharma brings him into attack. When Australians were looking strong in their second innings of the fourth Test, Bumrah came on to bowl in struck three times.
He completed 200 Test wickets in the process, with Travis Head being his landmark scalp. The 201st and 202nd wickets came in the form of Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey.
He has entered the league of legends and there has been a few bowlers, who have had an impact like him in the longest format of the game. Overall, he has taken 202 wickets at an average of 19.39 and no other bowler in the history of Test cricket has a better average than him while completing 200 dismissals in red-ball cricket.
The right-arm seamer has taken 70 wickets in 13 Tests at an average of 14.75 in 2024. In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, he has taken 29 wickets and need 4 more to past Harbhajan Singh’s record of most wickets (32) in a single edition of the famous rivalry.
In the series opener, he took 8 wickets. The tally was four scalps in the second contest. Bumrah dismissed nine batters in the third game at the Gabba in Brisbane. The veteran has amassed 8 wickets in the Boxing Day Test.
