Team India speedster Jasprit Bumrah has been named skipper of the Test team of the year 2024 by cricket.com.au. Bumrah took 71 wickets in 13 Tests at an average of 14.92 with 5 five-fers.
The right-arm seamer has been sensational against big teams and recently completed 200 Test wickets at an average of less than 20. He is also the leading wicket-taker in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, with 30 wickets from four Test matches at an average of 12.83 with three five-fers.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is also a part of the team, with the southpaw scoring 1478 runs from 15 red-ball matches at an average of 54.74 with nine half-centuries and three hundreds.
However, there was no place for Australia captain Pat Cummins. He amassed 37 scalps from nine Tests at an average of 24.02 with two five-fers. He managed 306 runs with the bat.
Alex Carey and Josh Hazlewood were the two Australian cricketers in the squad. England cricketers Ben Duckett, Joe Root, and Harry Brook also made it to the tram. Rachin Ravindra, Kamindu Mendis, Matt Henry and Keshav Maharaj were also given a chance.
