Sachin Tendulkar represented Mumbai Indians for six seasons, and his son Arjun is a part of the franchise. The young all-rounder made his MI debut in 2023. Piyush Chawla, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, has shared the dressing room with Sachin and Arjun Tendulkar.
Piyush was a member of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup. At 35, he doesn’t want to retire from the game.
Shubhankar Mishra recently asked him about his retirement date, and the veteran replied that he would not hang up his boots before MS Dhoni called it a day.
“Mahi bhai. I once had a conversation with Prithvi Shaw, who urged me to retire. I told him that I had played with Sachin and now played with his son, Arjun. I am playing with you, and after playing with your son, I will retire,” he said.
Chawla has played for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab), Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians.
“MI had good spinners, but the experience is the most important thing. In pressured situations, the experienced campaigner will bowl well. People were questioning when I was bought by MI, but the same people started praising me after my impressive performance,” he added.
