Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson took MS Dhoni’s name when he was asked to name a batter against whom he finds it difficult to plan things. He called former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni as the most challenging rival batter.
Samson said that the team management has a plan for every player in the dressing room, but the decision-makers pass on when Dhoni’s name comes up for discussion and then move on to the next player.
“You can’t think about Mahi bhai. It is impossible to come up with a plan against him. We plan for everyone in the rival batting order but when his name comes for the discussion we let it pass as there is nothing you can do as an opponent. We cannot plan for him,” Sanju Samson told Vimal Kumar.
Sanju Samson was last seen in action in international cricket during the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. He was promoted as an opener and scored a hundred in the final game in Hyderabad.
The 29-year-old amassed 111 runs off 47 balls, helping the team post 297/6 in 20 overs. The Men in Blue won the game by 133 runs to complete a 3-0 series whitewash, and Samson was named the Player of the Match.
Samson will next be seen in the T20I series in South Africa. He is expected to play a vital role in the Suryakumar Yadav-led team.
