Mayank Yadav, who was sensational in the previous two games in IPL 2024, was injured during the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans.
Mayank didn’t look comfortable, and his pace dropped to 141 kmph in his first over of the day. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill slammed him for runs, and he doesn’t look clinical at any point in time.
He left the field after the over and didn’t return to resume the bowling. According to reports, he has left-side strain.
Mayank took 6 wickets in the first two contests against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He was named the Player of the Match on both occasions.
LSG bought Mayank ahead of IPL 2022, for INR 20 lakh. He was benched throughout the season and was injured in 2023. After recovering from three extensive injuries, the management included him in the Playing XI for the game against Punjab Kings. He started their downfall by dismissing Jonny Bairstow and didn’t look back.
In the next match with RCB, he bowled a quick ball to Glenn Maxwell, who was caught. Cameron Green was clean bowled on a peach of a delivery.
If Mayank Yadav is ruled out of the upcoming games, this would be a massive blow for the franchise and his prospect of playing for India.
