Asia is a continent of incredible diversity, offering something for every type of traveller. From bustling cities filled with rich culture and history to tranquil beaches, lush jungles, and towering mountains, Asia has an endless variety of destinations for the perfect holiday.

Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, culinary experiences, or cultural exploration, the continent’s vast array of landscapes, traditions, and attractions makes it an unparalleled travel destination. Drew Binsky, a popular YouTuber known for his travels, has explored all 50 countries in Asia and has now shared his top three picks that embody the best of what the continent has to offer.

1. Philippines

Binsky’s first pick is the Philippines, a country he spent two years exploring. With more than 7,500 islands, the Philippines is known for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and incredibly friendly people.

“I spent two years travelling in the Philippines, and it is hands down one of the most underrated countries in the world,” Binsky says. “The food is incredible, and honestly, if you’re after the best beaches, look no further.”

His favourite places include Palawan and Romblon, where he enjoyed activities like snorkelling and exploring pristine waters. The Philippines’ famous dish, Lechon, also won his heart, as he describes it as “so good, hands down.”

What really sets the Philippines apart for Binsky, however, is the warmth and kindness of the Filipino people. “The hospitality in the Philippines is like nowhere else. It’s truly more fun in the Philippines,” he adds.

2. Iran

Next on Binsky’s list is Iran, which he describes as one of the most misunderstood countries in the world.

Despite being in the Middle East, a region often viewed through a lens of fear and misconceptions, Iran won Binsky over with its incredible hospitality, breathtaking historical sites, and surprising beauty.

“Iran is where hospitality starts and ends,” he said. One of his most memorable experiences was when a shopkeeper ran ten minutes to return the change Binsky had forgotten to take.

Iran also offers some of the best skiing in Asia, with breathtaking mountain resorts that are often overlooked by tourists.

Binsky’s favourite spots in Iran include the ancient ruins of Persepolis, the vibrant Esfahan Square, the world’s largest covered bazaar in Tabriz, and the stunning Rainbow Land on Keshim Island.

He also notes the unique blend of ancient culture and modern life in the country, which makes it an unforgettable destination.

“Everyone thinks it’s dangerous, but it’s actually amazing,” Binsky says. “The people love Americans, and they always want to talk to me about America. Iran is absolutely amazing.”

3. Vietnam

Vietnam secured a place on Binsky’s list as the third best country in Asia.

He has a personal connection to the country, having lived in Hanoi for seven months in 2017. According to Binsky, Vietnam boasts the best cuisine in the world, with its healthy, fresh, and flavorful dishes that are both affordable and tasty.

From the delicious Bánh mì (Vietnamese sandwiches) to the fresh pho soup, Binsky couldn’t get enough of the food.

“It’s super clean, super healthy, and the bread, it’s crispy, flaky, and absolutely divine,” he said. What makes Vietnam even more special is its affordability, with meals costing a fraction of what they would in the West.

For those looking for adventure, Binsky recommends renting a motorbike and taking a ride from the north to the south of Vietnam, a journey that showcases some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. And if you visit, don’t miss the town of Ninh Binh – “Trust me, you’ll thank me,” he added.
