Ben Duckett recalled his statement on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s batting, saying how the English side deserve credit for the batter’s aggressive batting. Ben said that he also called Jaiswal a world-class player, which was not discussed by anyone.
Following Jaiswal’s sensational batting on Day 3 of the Rajkot Test, Duckett had claimed that England deserve credit for the aggressive approach of other teams. His comments were not taken lightly, with even Nasser Hussain and Michael Vaughan going after the left-handed batter.
“I was actually praising him for his batting. I said that he was a world-class player, but no one spoke about that. Jaiswal played well throughout the series and he was incredible,” he told Daily Mail.
Jaiswal accumulated 712 runs in five matches at an average of 89 with two double hundreds.
The left-handed batter heaped massive praise on Test head coach Brendon McCullum for allowing him to play freely in the five-day format.
England have lost only one series since McCullum came on board. Englishmen are looking to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship.
