More than Australia’s win over India in the second Test at the Adelaide Oval, the heated exchange between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head is hogging the limelight. Although Siraj and Head cleared the confusion between the two when the former came out to bat in India’s second innings, Team India captain Rohit Sharma was asked to give his take on the controversial incident.
After dismissing the Australian batter, Siraj gave him a fiery send-off, which angered the batter. He abused the bowler before leaving the field. However, Travis claimed that he said well bowled to the opponent, which was countered by a right-arm seamer.
He spoke to Harbhajan Singh and revealed that Head was abusive, which forced him to react in that fashion.
In the press conference after the match, Rohit refused to give importance to the incident, saying it happens and such arguments are part of the game.
“I don’t know what exactly happened between the two as I was standing in the slips. Both are competitive characters and Head batter well. Siraj likes to be aggressive, and he bowls well when he is in that mood.
“I don’t want to get into it as it was within the limits. There is no problem if you get aggressive but there is fine line between aggression and over-agression. I am there to make sure that line is not crossed,” Rohit Sharma said.
Siraj took four wickets in the match.
