Sanjay Bangar, former India cricketer and batting coach, believes Virat Kohli will be prepared to respond to KL Rahul’s celebration at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bangar highlighted that Kohli would aim to create a similar moment on his home ground, just as Rahul did after his match-winning knock when RCB and DC faced off earlier in IPL 2025.
In their April 10 clash, Rahul steered DC to a six-wicket victory over RCB with an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls, celebrating by proclaiming Chinnaswamy Stadium as his “home turf.”
The April 27 game offers Kohli an opportunity to respond in a similar fashion at his home ground, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Rahul took full advantage of his home crowd, guiding DC to a victory over RCB. Kohli, known for his fiery celebrations, could deliver something special, given his excellent form this season.
“I think Virat would do a little bit differently. I think he will show that, ‘OK, that pavilion in which you’re sitting, it’s mine’. Who’s the boss? Virat is the boss there,” Bangar said.
Both Rahul and Kohli have been in top form in IPL 2025. Rahul has scored 323 runs in seven matches, playing a crucial role for DC, while Kohli has accumulated 392 runs in nine matches, putting him firmly in the race for the Orange Cap.
DC and RCB are both on 12 points and will compete for the top spot when they go head-to-head on Sunday.
