Australia speedster Mitchell Starc, who didn’t play in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, is looking forward to competing alongside KL Rahul for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2025. In last year’s mega auction, the DC owners added the two to the team.
“KL Rahul is like Mr. Fix-it for Team India. He has batted in different positions and also kept wickets. I am excited to play alongside him,” Starc told Fanatics TV.
Rahul doesn’t play T20Is for the Men in Blue, but he is a regular starter in Test cricket and ODIs. Rahul was superb with the bat in Team India’s title-winning campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The right-handed batter amassed 140 runs at the No.6 slot at a strike rate of 97.90. In the final against New Zealand, he accumulated an unbeaten 34 runs off 33 balls to lead the team to a 4-wicket win.
Starc also refused to accept that the ICC gave India an advantageous situation in the Champions Trophy. He mentioned that just by playing all their matches in Dubai doesn’t mean Rohit Sharma’s unit was able to dominate the rivals.
Starc highlighted that players of all the other teams are playing in different leagues across the globe, but this luxury is not available to the Indian players as the BCCI only allows them to compete in IPL.
