It seems Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s days are numbered in Test cricket. The two legends of Indian cricket have touched the lowest point in their careers and their never-ending failures have raised several questions.
Barring a fifty each, both were found searching for answers in the three-Test series against New Zealand. Harsha Bhogle, who avoids getting harsh on India platters, rated Virat and Rohit’s display against the Kiwis.
Sharma (11) and Kohli (1) ended their last innings in the series on a low. The two will now travel to Australia for five-Test series.
“Trying to get my head round Rohit Sharma’s approach. Struggling. That was a wicket on a platter and ends a disappointing home season for him with 133 in 10 innings,” he wrote on X.
“Kohli 192 in 10 innings. Rohit 133. It has been a forgettable home season for the big two,” he further wrote.
India lost the first Test by 8 wickets, while the margin of deat was 113 runs in the second contest. None of the Indian batters showed consistency in the series.
On the other hand, New Zealand played like a team and the players kept chipping in when needed.
