Rumours of a problem between Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill and Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya ended after Gill wrote a post for Pandya on Instagram. The speculation started after Shubman Gill didn’t shake hands with Hardik Pandya during the toss in the Eliminator. The video of the incident went viral on social media, with fans calling it an ego clash between the two Indian players. Hardik celebration after Gill’s dismissal also added fuel to the fire.
However, Gill’s social media activity quashed the rumours as posted a picture of himself and Hardik. “Nothing but love (Don’t believe everything you see on the internet),” he wrote.
Hardik also took to social media to write a message. He shared Shubman Gill’s story and responded, “Always, Shubhu baby.”
MI target final berth
MI will compete with Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 to book a place in the Indian Premier League final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. MI defeated GT by 20 runs in the Eliminator qualify for Qualifier 2. MI were below-par and it seemed they might fail to clinch a playoff spot by they returned to winning ways and achieved success in eight out of 14 matches to confirm their place in the second round before going past GT in the Eliminator.
Rohit Sharma scored a 50 ball 81 to help the five-time champions post 228-5. Mumbai then restricted Gujarat to 208/6.
