Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 runs in the Indian Premier League 2024. MI were ahead at one stage, with Dewald Brevis and Rohit Sharma going great guns, but Rohit’s dismissal allowed the host team to come back into the game.
Mohit Sharma then took a stunning return catch of the young South Africa batter to put the five-time defending champions under pressure. It brought more wickets, and Mumbai managed in 162/9 in 20 overs.
Earlier, the home team couldn’t score freely as the rival bowlers kept taking wickets.
Sai Sudharsan (45), Shubman Gill (31), and Rahul Tewatia (22) got starts but failed to convert them into big scores.
Jasprit Bumrah conceded just 12 runs and took wickets from 4 overs. Debutant Gerald Coetzee dismissed two batters and gave away 27 runs in 4 overs. GT posted 168/6 in 20 overs.
