“Exceptional player with great batting skills”: Dhruv Jurel lauds KKR batter
During the IPL 2025 season, Dhruv Jurel, the wicketkeeper-batter for Rajasthan Royals (RR), revealed an interesting story about his flatmate, Rinku Singh. Speaking on a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, Jurel disclosed that Rinku, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has been his flatmate. The two have been living together in Greater Noida to this day.
“We live together as flatmates in Greater Noida. (Hum Greater Noida mai ek sath hi rehte hai. Jab mai chota tha, toh unko dekhne aata tha Aligarh, match dekhne. Bohot class khelte hai kya batting karte hai aur ab sath rehte hai) Very genuine hearted person. When I was younger, I used to visit Aligarh to watch him play. I always thought he was an exceptional player with great batting skills. Now, we share a flat together, and he’s genuinely a kind-hearted person,” he said.
Dhurv Jurel, who comes from Uttar Pradesh, played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2025. After making his debut for the team in 2023, he entered his third season with RR in 2025. Rajasthan had a tough season, falling short of a playoff spot. They won just four out of their 14 matches.
Although the team’s overall performance was disappointing, Dhruv Jurel had his most successful batting season in the IPL so far.. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter amassed 333 runs in 13 innings, averaging 37 with a strike rate of 156.33, including two half-centuries.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Dhruv Jurel was among the players retained by Rajasthan Royals. Throughout his IPL career, he has participated in 42 matches, accumulated 680 runs at an average of 28.33, and maintained a strike rate of 153.84, which includes four half-centuries. He has also represented India in four Test matches and as many T20 Internationals.
