The picturesque city, known for its historic waterways and granaries, has been named the cheapest European city break for a 24-hour holiday.

Flights from Luton Airport to the quaint city of Bydgoszcz in Northern Poland can be found for as low as £29.

Its Old Town boasts an array of architectural styles including Art Nouveau, Gothic and Renaissance buildings.

Bydgoszcz is renowned for its canal and network of waterways that stretch west all the way to Rotterdam.

Nestled at a fork in the river Brda is Mill Island which once served as the hub of industry in Bydgoszcz during medieval times.
