England pacer James Anderson is considering a return to T20 format after seeing bowling friendly wickets in The Hundred 2024. His last T20 match was the 2014 T20 Blast final before he decided to play concentrate on red-ball cricket.
Despite his retirement, Anderson is still associated with the game. He is working as England’s mentor in Test cricket for the ongoing home season.
He has represented Lancashire in the County Championship to keep himself in shape for international matches. His could also target T20 leagues worldwide.a
“I still want to play T20 cricket. Things will get clear in the remaining months of the year. I am not sure about continuing as England’s mentor in the winter,” Anderson said on the Final Word Cricket Podcast.
“I saw the ball swinging in The Hundred 2024. I feel I can contribute as a player in the tournament. I don’t know if that is a good option but I am looking for a job in white-ball cricket. I have never been involved in franchise cricket,” he added.
Anderson has competed in 44 T20 matches, picking up 41 wickets at an economy of 8.47.
Anderson was fit but was told to retire by the team management as they wanted new pacers for the Ashes.
