England are returning back to Abu Dhabi for a few days. The visiting will not be staying in India after the second Test finished in four days in Vizag. England had their practice camp in Abu Dhabi before the five-match series started in India. They arrived in India just three days before the first game in Hyderabad.
The move seems to be aimed at allowing players to be away from action and enjoy themselves before coming back for the third Test in Rajkot.
The news was revealed by Rahul Rawat, who works for Aaj Tak.
“The England team will not be staying in India for the next few days and will instead travel back to Abu Dhabi. They will be back in India just a few days before the start of the third Test in Rajkot. #INDvsENG,” he wrote on X.
England lost the most recent game by 106 runs, and the series currently stands at 1-1. Chasing 399 runs for their second consecutive win, the Ben Stokes-led team was bowled out for 292.
The batters went for reckless shots and lost their wickets on a track that was still good for batting. Barring Zak Crawley’s 73, no one else stayed at the crease for a long time.
Ordinary batting by former captain Joe Root and needful run out of the current skipper, Ben Stokes, played a major role in a defeat by a big margin.
The competitiveness that England showed in the opening game was missing in the second.
A double hundred by Yashasvi Jaiswal, a hundred by Shubman Gill, and Jasprit Bumrah’s nine-wicket match haul were instrumental in a much-needed win. Bumrah was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling.
