Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are at the centre of the conversation for ignoring domestic cricket while giving importance to the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has left them out of the central contracts.
Despite a setback, there is no denying that Ishan is one of the most gifted players, which West Indies’ great Dwayne Bravo accepted. The all-rounder shared a picture with the wicket-keeper batter and Nicholas Pooran.
“Two of the most gifted players around @nicholaspooran and Ishan,” said Bravo in his caption.
The BCCI had clarified that Ishan and Iyer were not considered for the contracts.
“The BCCI has recommended that all athletes give precedence to participating in domestic cricket during periods when they are not representing the national team.”
Kishan didn’t play in the entire Ranji Trophy season for Jharkhand, while Shreyas skipped two games for Mumbai.
In the previous season, Iyer had a Grade B BCCI contract ( ₹3 crore) and Kishan Grade C ( ₹1 crore).
Iyer is the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and has a contract worth INR 12.25 crore. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians pay INR 15.25 crore to Ishan.
