Mohammed Siraj returned to Bengaluru in a different jersey in the Indian Premier League. After playing seven seasons for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he turned up for Gujarat Titans, having joined them in the mega auction. He was spot on from the start and took three wickets while conceding just 19 runs from his four overs. The right-arm pacer dismissed Devdutt Padikkal, Phil Salt, and Liam Livingstone. Siraj was named the Player of the Match as GT defeated the hosts by 8 wickets to register their second win of IPL 2025. Famous sports presenter Jatin Sapru hailed the performance of the speedster and gave him special praise.
Batting first, Bengaluru posted 169/8 in the allotted 20 overs. The chase was easy for the Titans, with Jos Buttler scoring an unbeaten 50-plus score while Sai Sudharsan played another important knock in the ongoing 18th season.
“DSP Saheb brought three arrest warrants and arrested three batters. He was simply magnificent for Gujarat Titans, and his opening spell made the difference,” Sapru said on Star Sports.
Navoj Singh Sidhu also hailed the bowler. “The RCB bowlers were bowling outside the off-stump, and they didn’t look to make the batters play. However, Siraj ensured that the batters played his 5 out of 6 deliveries. It was not about the speed, and hitting the right areas was important, and this is what he did. He got rewards for his line and length. I also feel Virat Kohli’s dismissal put RCB on the back foot, and they couldn’t recover till the end of their innings,” he said.
