Chennai Super Kings had another easy outing at home in the Indian Premier League 2024. The defending champions defeated Gujarat Titans by 63 runs to notch up their second consecutive win in the 17th season of the tournament. Chasing 207 runs in 20 overs, the Titans couldn’t keep the required run-rate in control and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Sai Sudharsan was the highest run-getter for the visitors, with 37 runs coming from his bat. Deepak Chahar and Tushar Deshpande and Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets each as Gujarat were restricted to 143/8.
Shubman Gill won the toss earlier and invited CSK to bat first, which backfired. Shivam Dube hit a blistering fifty, while Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad made vital contributions as CSK reached 206/6.
