Cantabria, on Spain’s north coast is full of beautiful scenery and unique heritage – and it should absolutely be on your bucket list. The province in what is known as Green Spain is home to a variety of sandy beaches, rocky coasts, and a breathtaking mountain landscape.

Having a coastline of over 220km (136 miles), Cantabria has more than 90 beaches all providing a different feel to it. It is home to wild beaches, for those who would like to reconnect with nature away from the crowd.

La Salvé beach is the longest stretch of sand along the Cantabria coastline and a testament to its coastal diversity.

Valles Pasiegos is a region formed by the valleys of the Pas and Miera rivers.

Not only is it home to amazing beaches and landscapes, but the province is home to many archaeological sites from the Upper Palaeolithic period.

Its most famous site the cave of Altamira declared as a World Heritage site.
