Brits want ‘Life Admin Days’ – as they waste nearly a week of holiday on tasks | Travel News | Travel

Six out of 10 Brits are in favour of businesses offering ‘Life Admin Days’ to their employees, in addition to the standard holiday allowance, according to a recent study.

The research revealed that workers use up four days of their annual leave on mundane life admin tasks such as paying bills, carrying out household repairs, and taking their car to the garage.

The survey of 2,000 employees found that 40% were unhappy about using their valuable time off for unwanted life admin. A quarter of respondents agreed that an additional three days should be added each year to help manage everyday tasks.

The study was commissioned by easyJet Holidays to promote its ‘Life Admin Concierge’ a limited-edition package holiday that includes an exclusive PA service, allowing customers to delegate tedious tasks.

Vicky Silverthorn, a leading professional home organiser and author, has partnered with easyJet Holidays for the campaign.

She believes that the burden of life admin can impact wellness, stating: “Modern life is stressful and holidays are essential to restoring balance. The mental load of routine chores and admin can detract from the restorative benefits of taking a proper break.”

The research also discovered that 42% of participants feel the stress of life admin has increased over the past three years.

A staggering 36% unable to recall the last time they truly relaxed during their annual leave and a significant four in 10 admit that they find it hard to unwind on holiday due to a plethora of household chores.

“To fully experience the rejuvenation that vacations offer, it’s essential to plan ahead and disconnect from routine responsibilities,” Vicky added. “By reducing the burden, we create mental space for a more restorative and revitalising holiday experience.”
