Priyansh Arya won almost all the awards during a post-match presentation ceremony. His knock of 103 runs off 42 balls was laced with 7 fours and 9 sixes. Punjab Kings posted 219/6 in 50 overs and managed to limit Chennai Super Kings to 201/5. He scripted several records and was lauded by former players.
Murali Karthik, the legendary spinner, spoke to him after the contest and even gave the 24-year-old a new title. “Babyface bomber,” he said.
Priyansh was pleased with his effort. “Out of the world feeling. I am really happy, but I want to contribute more with the bat. I will play attacking cricket in the upcoming matches,” he said.
“Shreyas bhai told me to bat with intent. It is important to bat according to the situation of the match. I wanted to do it against Chennai, but Nehal (Wadhera) told me to attack. Any bowlers can trouble me on any given day,” he added.
The southpaw was bought for INR 3.80 crore by the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Former players are backing him to play for India in international cricket. However, Arya will have to show consistency in the remaining games to play for the Men in Blue.
