Some bizarre and hilarious scenes occurred during the afternoon session of day 3 of the Australia-Pakistan Test match after the game was halted for six minutes because third umpire Richard Illingworth got stuck in a lift at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The players and onfield umpires Joel Wilson and Michael Gough made their way to the ground on time after lunch, but when they got to know about Illingworth getting stuck in a lift, they halted the play. The incident occurred during the 3rd ball of the 4th over.
When David Warner and Steve Smith got to know about the situation, they couldn’t control their laughter. Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan, who was on air at that time stated, “I know the lift. I know exactly which one. It’s a slow lift. It could be a while here. Clearly, the lunch was pretty good, because he had a lot of it.”
A video went viral when Richard Illingworth returned to the box, and the play resumed.

Australia off to a troubling start after lunch
Australia did not had the desired start after lunch as they lost two early wickets and were restricted to 16/4 by Pakistan. Nonetheless, Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh pushed the score to 107/4 till tea.
