Ashutosh Sharma hit a match-winning fifty to take Delhi Capitals to a 1-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in their first match of IPL 2025. Chasing 210 runs, DC crossed the line in the last over of the contest. The hosts lost wickets in clusters, and despite an impressive partnership between Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam, the team was put under pressure. Ashutosh scored an unbeaten 66 runs off 31 balls, with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes.
Shardul Thakur, Manimaran Siddharth, Dinesh Rathi, and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each, respectively. Earlier, Nicholas Pooran (75 runs off 30 balls), Mitchell Marsh (72 off 36 balls), and David Miller (27* off 19 balls) took the team’s total to 209/8.
Mitchell Starc (3 wickets) and Kuldeep Yadav (2 wickets) were the main wicket-takers for DC.
