Delhi Capitals Axar Patel heaped massive praise on Mitchell Starc, who single-handedly won the game against Rajasthan Royals. He didn’t allow RR batters to score 9 runs for a win in the 20th over and then conceded just 11 runs in the Super Over. Starc executed the yorkers to perfection when it mattered the most. KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs completed the task of scoring 12 runs in the Super Over.
Delhi had posted 188/5, with none of the batters scoring fifties. Rajasthan looked strong, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana smashing half-centuries, but the visitors managed to post 188/4.
“I knew if Starc executes well, we come back into the game. He bowled 12 balls on the trot, and they were yorkers. He is an Australian legend. Starc showed his mindset and just missed the length and length of one delivery,” he said.
“We should have added a few more runs in the powerplay overs. KL Rahul told us that the wicket was not easy to bat on. I urged my teammates to be positive and show intent. Sometimes, you end up pressing the panic button. When RR were going strong, it put me under pressure. I took a strategic break and told my bowlers to bowl proper line and length,” he added.
