Toyota Dealers Adding $5k Markups To 2025 Camry As Greed Knows No Bounds
A number of dealers are adding a $4,995 markup to the 2025 Camry, but others are already offering discounts

Over the decades, Toyota built a stellar reputation for offering affordable and reliable vehicles that were supported by an excellent dealer network. Nowadays, that’s not always the case as some dealers have gone crazy with markups.
While we weren’t surprised to see markups on the Tacoma Trailhunter or Land Cruiser, some dealers are delusional enough to add thousands of dollars onto the price of the 2025 Camry.

Now that you’ve had a moment to say FFS, we’ll get to the naming and shaming. Magnussen’s Toyota of Palo Alto appears to be one of the most prolific offenders as they have a number of models listed for thousands above MSRP.
As an example, they have a $2,995 markup on a 2025 Camry XSE AWD. If that wasn’t bad enough, the car comes loaded with nonsense such as mud flaps, bumper appliqués, USB cables, and a $25 trunk LED bulb. The latter is a head scratcher, but the listing claims it “provides bright white light that illuminates [the] entire trunk area.”
That’s enough to make your eyes roll, but it’s nothing compared to Hanlees Hilltop Toyota. They previously came to our attention for asking $73,159 for a Tacoma Trailhunter with an MSRP of $65,590.
This time around, they’re asking $45,057 for a Camry that stickers for $39,492. Besides the $4,995 “dealer adjustment,” the model is equipped with $570 worth of wheel locks and door edge guards.
There are other examples, as California’s Roseville Toyota appears to have a $4,995 markup on every single 2025 Camry. Needless to say, it would be wise to avoid paying a premium for a car like this.
That should be relatively easy as most Toyota dealers appear to have the Camry listed at MSRP. Some even have discounts including Wilde Toyota of West Allis, Wisconsin. They’re the kind of dealer we like to see as they’re offering a $1,000 discount on the sedan.
