- Jeep’s Wagoneer COV includes sirens, lights, and VIP transport upgrades for agencies.
- It’s powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine, producing 420 hp and 6.3-second 0-60.
- Offered in short- and long-wheelbase configurations for VIP transport and law enforcement.
The Ford Explorer is perhaps the full-size SUV best known for use across law enforcement agencies in the United States, but Jeep now wants a piece of the action. The automaker just announced its new Command Operations Vehicle (COV), based on the regular Wagoneer, but upgraded to meet the requirements of government agencies in the United States and Canada.
This special Wagoneer, which is also designed for high-profile motorcades and VIP transportation, is available in both short- and long-wheelbase configurations. At first glance, it may resemble a typical Wagoneer, but it boasts several custom features that set it apart from regular production models. Unless you’re obscenely rich or powerful, you’ll probably never get the chance to sit inside one.

Jeep’s upgrades start with the inclusion of a new lighting and electrical package that adds flashing blue and red lights behind the grille, along the underside of the sun visors, down the sides, and in the rear window. There’s also a siren behind the grille and a custom wiring harness and power distribution center that supports a new camera, computer, radio, radar, siren, printer, and modem.
What’s Under The Skin?
Power continues to come from the familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder Hurricane engine, rated at 420 hp and allowing the car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.3 seconds.
Naturally, the Wagoneer COV also comes with the Quadra-Lift air suspension system, which should give it a smooth ride despite its imposing appearance. In terms of safety, it includes the standard features found in the regular model—like a 10-inch head-up display with night vision, active lane management, and forward collision warning with automatic braking.
All Wagoneer COVs come with three years of Jeep Connect services and 10 years of Safety and Security Package access. This includes the Stolen Vehicle Assistance system, because, naturally, someone’s going to want to steal this thing.
“From Washington, D.C., motorcades to high-profile logistic requirements in every state and county across America, the Jeep Wagoneer COV is set to become a new leader in secure VIP transportation, having already gained a high level of interest from government agencies since its introduction in January 2025,” said Ryan Austin, Stellantis law enforcement program manager.”
Jeep added that it worked closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to bring this specialized Wagoneer to life, and has opened order books at dealerships across the United States. It hasn’t announced prices, but they’re probably on a need-to-know basis.
