Have you ever looked at a Land Rover Defender and thought, “That would be so much better with a Jeep Wrangler chassis underneath it?” No, we haven’t either. And yet here we are, the newest Defender restomod, featuring six more inches thanks to the bones of a Jeep JK Wrangler and power from a GM-sourced LS3 V8 engine to boot.

This is the Blackbridge Motors Defender 110 Mark IV. This bespoke creation combines the charm of the Defender with modern performance enhancements, featuring a custom-modified Jeep Wrangler chassis and a stretched 116-inch wheelbase.

Powering the Mark IV is a GM Performance 6.2L V8 LS3 engine with 425 horsepower. Paired with General Motors driveline components, including a six-speed automatic transmission and transfer case, the Mark IV ensures seamless performance and serviceability at any GM facility. If that’s not enough for you, then Blackbridge will also sell you one with a LT1 V8 for 450 hp with either an eight-speed auto or a six-speed manual.

To enhance its on- and off-road capabilities, the Mark IV boasts heavy-duty Dana HD axles, a Wilwood hydroboost four-wheel braking system, and custom valved shocks by Fox. The original Land Rover chassis has been replaced with a modified 2018 Jeep Wrangler one, extending the wheelbase and interior space for added comfort and versatility.

Inside, the cabin has been made to feel a bit more luxurious. It features premium materials and thoughtful design touches. Custom flooring from Chilewich provides durability and style, while off-white weather-treated leather upholstery adds a touch of elegance. Modern amenities, including a 9-inch touchscreen display and CNC machined controls, blend with analog-style gauges to go for that timeless aesthetic. In the cargo area there’s a dropdown-style tailgate providing easy access to the cargo space. LED lighting upgrades and a Standard Width Body Canvas Soft Top with Strataglass Windows ensure visibility and protection in any environment.

It’s all a lot to take in, granted. And with a base price of $169,950, it’s not exactly cheap either. But, there’s a lot of work that has gone into this Defender build, not least adding those extra six inches of interior space. It’s an impressive concoction, and the more you look into the details, the more it starts to make sense. But it’s definitely one that will be reserved for the Defender enthusiasts out there — of which there are many.
