- A digital artist reimagined the Crown Vic with 400 hp and custom Saleen touches.
- Saleen never built one, but this concept proves the Crown Vic deserved a chance.
- Inspired by the S281 Mustang, the sedan sports aggressive styling and big power.
The Ford Crown Victoria has long been known as the reliable workhorse of police fleets and taxi companies, but it has rarely been associated with the high-performance world of tuners like Saleen, whose main focus has traditionally been on the Mustang.
Even so, a skilled digital artist has reimagined what might happen if Saleen ever turned its attention to the Crown Vic. The concept combines muscle car aggression with four-door practicality and it could easily spark the imagination of builders looking for something unconventional. If there are any YouTubers looking for an interesting car to build, this could be it.

To create this special Crown Vic, Abimelec Design has taken inspiration from the Saleen S281, which the company built from 1996 until 2010 and was based on both the fourth and fifth generation Mustangs. Obviously, the design of the Mustang is vastly different from the Crown Vic, so significant alterations have been made to adapt the parts to the car, best known for being used as a police cruiser and taxi.
Muscle-Inspired Styling
Up front are tinted headlights and a new blacked-out grille, complemented by a new bumper with sharp air intakes. A new hood has also been installed, complete with small air extraction vents to help cool the engine bay. Elsewhere are a set of extended side skirts and a set of chrome-finished seven-spoke aftermarket wheels clad in Michelin rubber.

It’s perhaps the rear end that’s the highlight of this project, as it sports a large lip spoiler sitting atop the tailgate that’s complemented by a bold new bumper and diffuser, complete with center exhausts. Throw in a pair of tinted taillights, and you get what is undoubtedly one of the finest Crown Victorias ever conceived.
For performance, Abimelec Design envisions the car powered by the supercharged 4.6-liter V8 once offered in certain Saleen S281s. With 400 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque on tap, such a setup would turn this former fleet vehicle into a legitimate performance sedan, more than capable of holding its own against contemporary muscle cars.
