To use a stencil for SMT assembly, the operator positions the PCB on a flat surface and places the stencil on top. The operator then aligns the fiducial marks and registration features of the stencil with those on the PCB. They then clamp the stencil to the PCB’s frame with a hinge, so that the operator can easily lift and replace the stencil without disturbing the registration. This allows for a quick and efficient workflow that can keep up with the speed of production.
